How hard is it to put in a new garage door opener? Our old one crapped out (about 20 years old I swear – was there when we bought the house). I think it will be a pain in the butt job and that we should call my cousin who is an electrician and my hubby thinks we can handle it. How hard is it?

Honestly my husband puts ours in. He is great with all jobs around the house though. If your hubby feels comfortable doing it then why not let him. You can always get someone to fix it if it's wrong.

Ummm.. I envision a garage door coming down on your husband's head! I would get someone there to help him out. He can change it alone the next time (if there is a next time). I have a very handy hubby but there are things that I don't like him doing.
