Default Installing a ceiling fan

We took down the ceiling fan that was in my daughter's room. It was junk! Come to find out there is no electric there, it was a fan with a cord that plugged into the wall. How hard is it going to be to put electric in the ceiling so she can have a fan without a cord?

It is not actually all that hard. We have one that we picked up from home depot. It is a cordless set with a nice theme to it (made by hunter) and it was about $80 dollars.

Wow, that is weird that there was no electric run up there. It seems very dangerous. I am glad you got it taken out so you don't have to worry about it any more.

If you have to run electricity to the spot it may cost a little bit, but wouldn't it be better to have safe electricity in the room rather than worry about wires burning?

Bad wires is a huge issue in many older homes, ours had to be gutted and re-run. It seems after so many feet in a room you need a "box" of sorts to even out the loads that all the wires run, we had 5 less than we should have had.
