Default Knocking out plaster walls

How hard is it to knock down plaster type walls and then replace them with drywall? Is it bad for you health too? Breathing in the plaster as it crumbles? There are a couple of rooms in my home with these walls and they are terrible. I want to do this but I don't want a big mess.

Sounds pretty messy to me! I don't think it would be harmful though - as long as your wore breathing masks. I would do it if its something you want to do. I hate plaster walls too!

I like plaster walls. Are they the same as concrete walls? I would keep them, if so. Plaster or concrete walls have always seemed stronger and more sound proof to me. Maybe applying a new coat of plaster over the damaged walls would make them look new.

Not as hard as it looks if you are doing it right. You can use a water/spray mist bottle to help cut down on the dust but I would wear a small mask (and open a window) to help out. Are you looking to take down a load baring wall?
