Default Leak under kitchen sink!

Grrrrrr! It seems like leaks are following us around all over the house. We just fixed one under the bathroom sink and now the kitchen sink is leaking. We are fixing these ourselves as plumbers are expensive.

That stinks! I hate it when the pipes leak under the sink. They're hard to deal with and can do some damage before you ever know they're there. The bottom of our sink rotted out before we ever knew there was a leak under there. We had to replace the bottom and replace the pipes because they had cracked instead of leaking around the joint.

I'm sorry to hear that and I know how it feels. One night I woke up from my husband yelling. I ran to see what was wrong and it turned out the pipe under the bathroom sink had broke and hot water was spraying everywhere under the sink and flooding the bathroom. My poor husband had to reach under the sink where the hot water was spraying just to shut the water off. Water can be an expensive accident.

I think everyone has had a plumbing disaster of one type or another. We had our hot water heater to crack and seep out hot water for several days before we found it. Talk about a double whammy, we had a huge water bill and electric bill both!

Ouch! That's not good. I have had to clean up more than my share of leak related problems because our plumbing is so old. The old pipes have gradually had to be replaced with PVC pipes and I'm afraid I'm not done yet.

Man! I hate plumbing problems! I'm handy with carpentry but plumbing just baffles me. I have to hire someone every time we have a problem and it costs quite a bit to have a plumber visit.

My sink was leaking where the drain pipe hooks into the sink. I used some black electrical tape and taped the area of the leak really, really well. It's an old plumbers trick, it's cheap, and it works. I don't know how well that trick would work if you had a bad leak, but a little drip at a small crack should be fine. At the very least it will tide you over until you can call that plumber.
