Default Making something antique

I want to strip down a hutch and make it look antique. Has anyone done this? Is it hard? How long do you think it will take me to do? I know I have to strip the paint and then sand it. Then stain it and then sand it again. Sounds like a lot of work but I'm ready to start.

Have you thought about using crackle paint? There is a product on the market that will give you a crackle look without too much effort. I have looked at it and it looks pretty good.

I have a book that explains this. But it is a lot to type out and the pictures help. I will see if I can find an online site that would explain it.
