Default New windows

My hubby is trying to convince me that we need to go ahead and get new windows and that it will save us on energy costs. Will it make that big of a difference?

Any time you seal up leaks, you make a dent in the energy usage to heat or cool your home. Right now I'm in a mobile home and I've put plastic on almost every window in the place. Some of the newer shrink to fit plastic is great, I can't even tell it's in place.

The condition of your current windows will affect whether you save money. Draughty older windows, especially those that are single glazed are horribly inefficient, new ones could save a lot.

Yep he is correct but I would suggest shopping around. I know many people that did not do this from the start and spent too much getting them replaced. At some point ours will need replaced but right now we have other things that need to come first (bigger things that is).

Also, look into a warranty for your windows. We got new ones and had a good amount that we saved in the beginning, but they did not last, and so we ended up having more problems then when we began!
