Default New windows.

We are thinking about replacing some of our old windows. Has anyone done this recently? What kind of costs are we looking at? Is the installation usually done in one day?

I replaced all my windows with the low e, insulted glass. It took about a year to do them all, as it was between other projects. The windows were standard sizes, and lowes had some good rebates going on at the time.

Replacing the windows was fairly easy. Usually took about 2-3 hours a window. Some windows we did frame out into smaller sizes.

What we did was cut the seal around the inside and outside. Took apart the window if we could get the glass out. Take the frame of the window out. Clean out any of the gunk in the window area. Then installed the new window. Sometimes we had to make the window hole a little bigger. Screw it in, add insulation around the window, then caulked it up.

It might be easier depending on your style house.
