| I have a few. The county puts on a rain barrel seminar, it used to be free now they charge, but if you sign up early enough you can get a rain barrel to take home. My in-laws just gave me a few when they moved.
The water is not as good as rain, not sure why, but they always mentioned that. I think it has the do with how the plants get the water. But it is better then city water.
@Charla. A rain barrel is typically a 55 gallon drum, although other sizes and styles can be used. You have your down spot from the gutters run into it, so it collects the rain water from your roof. You then will have a spigot to to get the water out. I use soaker hoses on mine typically, although will water with a hose at times. |
