Default Refinishing Counter Tops

I saw an advertisement for a local big chain hardware store while I was at the doctor's office yesterday which had a new product you could paint your countertops with. It was like the paint product you paint your garage floor with. You prime the cleaned surface, sprinkle color chips on the primer and then when it's dry you paint on the sealer. I've tried to find the ad in my local paper but I can't find it and the store near me says they don't know what I'm talking about. I'd love to have my countertop done by Christmas because mine's a mess with knife cuts and burn marks (not from me). Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know you can do this with a tub but I never thought about it for a counter top. I know what you mean about the kind for the flooring of a garage, but I have no idea (though I am intrigued) about the counters.

Is that even possible?
