Default Reseating The Toilet

Our wax ring that seals the toilet to the sewage pipe finally gave up and we had to replace it. It's not a complicated procedure but man it's hard to lift that toilet and place it back on that wax ring. We accomplished it but it was very heavy.

I wondered if this was a hard project and something that you could do yourself. I have a feeling that we are going to have to do this soon, so at least I know that we can do it and not have to hire a plumber.

We have done this with both toilets in the last year. The second seal on our downstairs one did not take so we ended up replacing the toilet. It is not a hard job, but yes they are heavy!
