Default Wallpaper border help

I painted my bathroom and then the ceiling yesterday. The walls were done the day prior. I went to put up the border last night and the border would NOT stick up there. I had to call my mom and she came right up to help. We got it to stick almost everywhere. When I woke up this morning I checked it. There are 3 spots it did not stick at all. One is right on the part that we had to splice together, and the other 2 spots are on top in the back corner.

How do I get them to stick now? The border was the kind that you wet and then let sit for 2 minutes (to get the paste working). Can I use Elmers glue? Would it go through the border?

I need some help please!

I always use wallpaper paste even for those that you aren't suppose to need to. It just seems to hold better. I have used Elmer's Glue before but you need to think it down some with water and I don't think I would do a whole job with it.

I do the same. I've always used wallpaper paste and I also use cork board pins to hold it up until it dries. I just push them in in spots where they won't be conspicuous. I leave them up until it dries and then take them down and put them back on the cork board.

I bought something that was a "fix-it" - almost like a glue but not a glue... Let me see if I can find it.. Just looked, it's called DIF - it cost $1.99 and it worked wonderful. Bought it at Wal-Mart.

I found that DIF and tried it last night and so far so good. It's all sticking! I'm so glad! Thanks for the tip. I hate to wallpaper anything, even border! What a pain it is!

Glad you found something that worked for you. I once had to rip down all the wall border and start over with new. Nothing would make it stick. I wonder how long this DIF has been out?

All of the prepasted stuff is junk. I've never had any luck with any of it sticking without extra help. It's amazing that they still sell it prepasted since everyone seems to have trouble with it.
