Default Washing Down Walls

We decided not to paint this year before winter, but instead wash down all the walls and ceilings. Does anyone else ever do this? We try to wash down walls and ceilings in the spring and then paint in the fall, but we didn't want to paint this year.

I haven't actually washed entire walls, but I do the parts that get dirty where people touch around light switches and doors. I guess if your walls are that bad it makes sense. It's way cheaper than painting.

We hardly ever paint. Maybe once in 5-10 years. We don't wash down our walls and ceilings every year either. I keep the parts where little fingers can touch clean and I keep cobwebs out of the corners, but other than that they walls and ceiling don't really seem dirty.

Hmmm. That's a good idea. I may have to try that. We were going to paint but it looks good. I'd say you could get rid of a lot of allergens that way.

I wash my walls down twice a year unless we paint. We don't paint every year so it's necessary for us to make sure everything is cleaned. Our family all have allergies so we have to make sure things are as clean as far as we can do it.

I haven't ever done that but it's just because I didn't think of it. We usually paint every year so it's generally fresh. I may have to do this now that you've mentioned it.

I wash the walls a couple of times a year. We have white walls though so they show everything. Plus it is just something we did growing up.
