I'm curious about those water heater jacket you are supposed to put around the water heater to save money on your energy bill. Do these really work or is it just a waste of time?
They don't save you a whole lot of money, but you should still see a difference in your energy costs. Having newer appliances that are more energy efficient is the best way to lower your energy costs though.
When we bought our house the water heater already had one so I don't know how much money it saves us. I don't think they cost very much though so it might be worth a try.
