Default Best deals on laptops?

I really need to get myself a laptop with WiFi access so I can take my work in other rooms or even away from the house. I hate to be stuck in the house all summer with the beautiful weather, you know? If I had a laptop, I can at least go out on the deck to work.

Where do you recommend to get the best deal on a laptop?

I've always found great deals at the manufactures outlet type stores.

Dell Outlet - Refurbished Computers - Refurbished Laptops - Refurbished PCs

Buy Outlet store from the HP Official Store

Geeks.com also has some good deals every now and again.

I can't stand Dell anymore but I'll take a look at the HP link. My current desktop is an HP Pavilion Slimline and it's a wonderful little machine. HP has come a long way in improving their computers in the past decade, that's for sure. Thanks for the link - I'll take a look around.

I must agree on the Dell, well actually I fib, I absolutely LOVE Dell, that is until something goes wrong, though it doesn't happen often, if something does happen to go wrong then you are looking at a never ending chore of trying to have it repaired. I've been looking for a new Laptop and have found several on Amazon and even Walmart.com that are fairly reasonably priced with nice warranties (which is always a plus!).

Hi!

Personally, and I know it's risky, but I've gotten my last few laptops off of Craigslist. I know enough about computers to be able to check them out a bit, and I usually just use my own hard drives with my own operating system on them- so I don't have to worry about them being infected with anything, but plenty of people will sell them with the OS installed already.

I'm a big fan of Sony Vaios. I had someone drop mine onto a marble floor, and while parts did break and it looks like it's been to a certain place and back, it works perfectly!

I am not a laptop person but if I were, I doubt I could purchase one online only. I need to be able to see and touch things before I buy them, I guess I am an odd shopper that way. And is it Dell's or HP that have issues over heating?
