Default Is bigger really better?

I had big screen t.v. fever this spring and just couldn't seem to get away from it. I even had dreams about which wall I would put it on. The t.v. we already had was a 35" and worked just fine. But, was that enough? Noo....

Well, I did it. After months of dreaming about getting my big flat screen t.v., we got one. It is hanging up on my wall and I am wondering is bigger really better? You get used to whatever you are watching and after awhile, it just doesn't seem as glamorous anymore.

I think you just answered your own question.

I'm sure there are psychologists out there who can better answer the question of why people tend to keep wanting bigger things. Well, okay, that's not entirely accurate as I'm the opposite — I tend to like things smaller (eg. smaller laptop, smaller cellphones, etc). We all gravitate towards what we think of as better, though, and for most people that means bigger. Don't ask me why — I'm no psychologist — but that's just human nature.

And you left out something very important. You get used to it, and then besides not wanting to watch anything else, you end up being a jerk to people who do not understand it. As in, going to a friends house and watching a good movie, one you might really want to see, but "the movie sucks" since its not the right size that your mind is used to.

We have the same TV we've had for over 10 years. I don't like spending extra money for extra big luxury items. Call me cheap. My husband could care less if the TV is black and white, which it isn't, but... He rarely watches anything unless I turn it on.

We have a 42 inch flat screen television. I told my boyfriend to go shopping one day and pick out his own birthday present (Last time I do that. ). Anyway, I am not a person who has to have the best, the newest, or even the biggest. I do love the television he picked out and honestly now it's hard to watch a movie on my smaller televison only because the picture is so different, but I could have lived with out it.
