Every single fan I buy from K-Mart or Wal-mart breaks. What ever happened to the metal fans that would last you years! These are plastic and either the blade breaks or the motor wears out.
I have noticed the same thing. You really can't use those plastic fans for any long period of time or around kids. If they even fall over they will break.
Can you still get fans that have metal blades? If so, I would love to know where. I have okay luck with Walmart fans. It's their electronics that always break when I buy them there.
Home Depot and Lowes still have the metal fans. They cost more, but when you get the plastic ones you have to replace them every year or so and the metal ones hold up for forever.
