Default Dish Network v. DirecTV

We've had DirecTV for about three years, but I am seriously considering switching to Dish. DirecTV is charging $60 a month for what we could get on Dish for half the price. Does anyone here have one or the other? What are your thoughts on the service?

I had both and I didn't really love either one. I currently have cable and I think I'm happier with that. I watch a lot of shows online anyway.

I currently have cable through Charter. I had Direct TV about ten years ago, but only kept it a few months. If you are surrounded by trees, you can easily lose your signal. Oh, and they still send me junk mail every week all these years later.

I have had both and cable. Now I use a Roku, Netflix and Hulu plus accounts plus several free channels. That's what we watch and we do not miss cable or sattelite TV at all! Choosing what you want to watch, when you want to watch it, is fantastic!

We have Dish right now and have been thinking of changing to DirectV. I actually think both are about the same in the long run. More then likely Directv with nickle and dime you to death too. I've seriously been thinking though of going back to Cable. I think they have come down in price and have more deals now with all the other competition out there.
