We are considering getting a flat screen tv when we get our taxes back. What should we be looking for and what are some good brand names in flat screen technology?

Go with your budget. This is what I always tell my friends if they ask for advice on electronics.

Now on the brand name, this depends on what you have been using already. Some brands work well with other component systems like the DVD or sound controllers with the same brand. Other brand can work alright with other brands. The salesperson on the electronics shop usually knows about this and you can ask them which brand is compatible with the components you have.

That's good advice Justin, and there is not so much comment to add. Just one thing, depending on your budget, always try to go for popular brands like Sony or Panasonic which generally are more reliable than other unknown brands.
