Default Internet filters

With the ease with which someone can accidentally hit a porn site, I've installed a free Internet filter on my computer so when the kids are surfing the net, they don't accidentally hit something inappropriate. Does anyone else do this?

What is the free one that you use? I use net nanny but it's not free. I love it though! I am alerted every time someone tries to enter a website that is blacklisted by me. They are also not allowed to enter the site unless they have the password.

I would like to know the name of the free version, even as an adult it is annoying to have porn opening up before me, especially with kids around. I will also check out net nanny.

Wow...am I slow to respond to this one. Sorry about that everyone. The program that I use is called OpenDNS and it blocks everything starting at your router. Really nice and simple program to use.

Thank you for mentioning that one, I will try it. For the kids I use McGruff Safeguard which is a free internet monitoring tool. It's free and you can download it here: McGruff SafeGuard: Family Safety Software
