Default iPod nano problem

I bought my daughter an iPod nano last year (it was almost exactly 1 year ago). Well it does not work anymore. She was listening to it and it just went dead – screen went black. She has tried to recharge it and nothing. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Of course it’s not still under warranty. It was not wet ever so that isn’t the problem.

I was told that you should look at the apple website and they should tell you what you can do. Something about holding down the round button and the menu until it comes back on.

You can always take the iPod into an apple store if you can't figure it out online. I would not send it in anywhere else though - I've heard horror stories about other companies that fix apple products.
