I came across an article that suggested putting a phone that's gotten wet in a bowl of uncooked rice so the rice will absorb the water out of the phone. Don't know if it works but it sounds like good advice.

I've heard that before too. I think you are supposed to remove the battery first though. Would love to hear if it works.

I know someone who did this and it did work. He had dropped his phone into some water and like you mentioned, took the battery out and put both it and the phone in the rice. He was pretty quick about it so don't know if it would work all the time.

I have actually done this and it works like a charm. I don't remember where I heard the tip, but it certainly works well. I did take the battery out of the phone and let it sit for two days before I put it together again.

Very interesting. It's new to me, but it's just me living in the cave for too long. Glad to know that it works. Anyway, after being treated that way, would the cellphone works as well as it used to?
