Default Router And Electric Going Out

Every time my electric goes out, which has been happening a lot lately with summer storms I have to totally reboot my modem and router. Is this normal? Does it affect it?

I've seen it happen before. You can try a battery backup to keep power to it while the electric is out. Some people say that the power outages are bad, other say it is no problem.

I say that it is not bad for the hardware but bad for the software if ever we are downloading or updating online. The disruption creates a corrupt file and it will be bad for the system.

If you can afford a UPS then I would suggest that you better get one. I had this same problem before I had the UPS. Now I don't have to worry if the electricity fluctuates.
