Default Wireless Technology Interference

I now have several wireless devices, and thankfully haven't had a problem yet. But what happens when two devices are bought that run on the same frequency?

It depends if you've bought 'wireless' or bluetooth. Wireless generally refers to optical or infrared- both can be intereferd with but the down fall with them is that they need to be in a close proximity and have to be facing the receiver. Bluetooth is pretty much impossible to interfere with unless you're purposely trying to. It can also be utilized from another room, facing any direction.

I would like to add something here. If you say "wireless internet" then you only need to be inside the range of the network to get a signal.

Everything else was explained by Elle.

My son has an old laptop that had to have a wireless card in order to connect to our wireless internet. The only problem is he can be sitting directly underneath the wireless modem and it kicks him off constantly. We thought it could have been the cordless phones so we unhooked and took the batteries out of them and it didn't seem to make a difference.
