Default Books for Beginners?
Neither I nor anyone in my family has ever tried gardening - we've always lived in the city. Now I have a backyard of my own and want to give it a try, because it sounds fun. Any recommendations on books to get me started?

Anything by Readers Digest tends to be good, basic information. From there you know enough to be more discerning in what information you seek and why.
