Default Feeding birds

I was late getting my bird feeders out this year because the weather has been mild enough that our bear are still around. I think I waited too long because I just don't have number of birds this year that I have enjoyed in years past. I usually have 9 or 10 mating pairs of cardinals, and this year I haven't seen one. How long will it take to get the birds here? I miss them!

I thought seasonal birds were a given. We had a lot of red cardinals this year, and we don't put out any birdfeeders. I don't know, maybe they were just late, being the weather is so whacky everywhere anymore.

I really need to get a birdfeeder. We tend to see a decent amount of birds, but I'd like to see more. Watching them eat at a feeder can be so relaxing too.

Oh no! Keep the feeders out, they might come back! I love birds too - my favorite are hummingbirds. I have several feeders around the house and on the porch.

We are planning to make some bird feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter, and birdseed with our little girl. She loves to watch birds in the yard.

The squirrels get into any bird feeders we've put out, so we stopped doing them. We still get bluebirds and cardinals, along with these awful blackbirds who eat everything I plant.

We have a load of squirrels too, but the weather has been so mild that none of the birds seemed to disappear this year and the squirrels didn't hibernate! I don't really mind feeding both and always put cheese out for the birds as they love it!

We feed the local birds at the end of our property line to keep them away from the dogs who go crazy for them. I have never thought about feeders too much though, does it really help?
