Default Fire ants

Does anyone know of a backwoods recipe that can help to get these buggers out of my yard? It seems after a few years of them going into hiding they are back.

I've heard that club soda, about two cups on the the mound will kill the queen in about a week. Others say that is hogwash.

Some people told me that nematodes will work, but never tried it.

I've tried dish soap before. They hate it, and will move, but they can move on your property again. Will take away to get them off your property.

Others have said they dump charcoal embers on the beds.

Phorid flies are a natural predator of fire ants.

Diatomaceous Earth is s said to cut their shells and kill them.

Another option is boiling water. But I have a problem with this as by the time it reaches the queen, if it does, it may not be hot.

A friend who worked on a golf course would take hot melted metal and poor it in their next. A by product he said when you pull it out you have a neat shape.

Well believe it or not we have used grits and they seem to work if it isn't a real large ant bed. I just sprinkle all around the edges and in the middle. They are suppose to eat it and it 'swells' inside of them. I have actually seen them disappear. Might not all go right away as it takes a little while but worth a try.
