I am debating starting a new garden up, we seem to have the room for it but I am a little uneasy. How do you keep the bugs out? Is it any harder than a normal (flower) garden to deal with?

If you are going the potted route, I would suggest getting the saucers that extend an inch or two extra from the base. I've found that the bugs tend not to like that, and will not cross the excess water in there. Otherwise it is pretty much like a normal garden.
