Default Raking; Not a fan.

We have three huge maple trees on our property that are older and in declining health so they're already dropping their leaves. These trees drop an absurd amount of leaves and I'm never sure if I should wait for them to be done before raking or take it a little bit at a time. Neither option is appealing to me. Oh yes, I know I need a leaf muncher but it was stolen last year and I'm not sure I want to spend this year on one. Though the prospect of raking is making me seriously consider it.

I hate raking. I have wide open property right now, so I don't have to rake, but my husband is talking about bringing in some big trees. If he does that, he can do the raking

Get a mulcher! They are awesome and can convert like 10 normal bags down into 1 or 2. Why make a huge fuss over it, at least you can compact it.

I must be the only person left on earth who likes to rake. It's nice to get in the fresh air and it's good exercise. I'd much rather rake than work out at a gym, but that's just me. And, of course, it's not even October yet. I might change my mind in a couple of months.

I actually enjoy raking, too. Do you live in an area, that requires you to rake the leaves? I do not bother raking my leaves, now. I figure, it is better to leave the leaves, where mother nature intended them to be. I might be wrong, but I think decomposing leaves make the soil better.

Well we always mow are leaves away. If you can get under your trees ok without going over a lot of roots then that is the way to go. Best, easiest and quickest way.

We have some very old trees too. Mowing the leaves is not an option because these are not normal amounts of leaves! We suck them up and grind into mulch. The only problem is that the bag of mulch gets so heavy I can't lift it and have to wait for my husband to move it.
