Has anyone just put down the small 'garden' rocks in your flower beds? Did you put down some of that garden paper (not sure what they call it exactly) that is suppose to keep out the weeds? And if so did it work? We are thinking of putting the rocks down and wondered how the other worked with stopping weeds.

Yes, I put down the barier first and it really helps with weeds. If you just put down the rocks you will wind up with rocks with a halo of weeds around them... Ask me how I know:
