Default Starting Seedlings Inside

I can't wait for spring to arrive. It's still at least three months before I can even think about planting a garden, but I start right about now each year starting some seedlings in the plant room my husband set up for me. It's upstairs and faces south. He has some fluorescent lights hung under shelves so each plant tray gets enough light. I love spending time up there every day.

Wow, sounds like you have things set up just right in order to get a head start on your garden. I should think about doing something like this.

I just started some seeds. Using some basic store seeds right now, as I want to save the higher quality/unique seeds for when it gets a little warmer. I use those little mini-greenhouse type starters though. I've got roughly 115 seeds started so far.

What a great idea if you have an extra room in the house. I need to do something like this, but I don't have an extra room right now. I wonder how a small area in the garage would do. The mini greenhouse sound like a good idea, too!

Oh, I wish I had an unused room with lots of light. Our spare rooms are all pretty dark. Do your fluorescent lights give enough growing power that they could be used in a shady room?
