We have not mowed our lawn in 2 weeks - seriously it has not needed it. We still have a brownish - almost dead lawn. I hate the looks of it and I hate the way it feels on my feet!

I am already watering the garden and the flowers and we own too much lawn to water. Any other tips?

Secret Lawn Tonic Recipe From Golf Course Groundskeeper - Updated | Wise Bread

You will need:

• One full can of regular pop (any kind-no diet soda)
• One full can of beer (no light beer) 12oz
• 1/2 Cup of Liquid dishwashing soap (do NOT use anti-bacterial dishwashing liquid)
• 1/2 Cup of household ammonia
• 1/2 Cup of mouthwash (any brand)

Directions:

• Pour into 10-gallon hose-end sprayer (other sizes will work too)
• In high heat, apply every three weeks

Seems to work so far for me. Only have done one application though.

LoL, I'm not sure but exactly what is this mixture suppose to do? Kill it the rest of the way? Turn it green again or make it grow? That is a weird combination there.

That is without a doubt the oddest thing I have ever heard for grass. I swear when I read it I thought the beer was for drinking purposes!

Each thing on the list serves a purpose. Pretty cheap with coupons and sales to make too.

The liquid soap is a wetting agent, helping the formula penetrate the roots.
The ammonia promotes growth and turns your lawn green.
The mouthwash does something you would never suspect mouthwash would do. It kills the bugs and grubs.
Beer is full of nutrients.
