Default Water feature

I'm thinking about adding a small water feature of some sort to my garden like maybe a small pond. Nothing very big, and nothing that requires plumbing. What is a simple way to do this?

We kind of did what you are talking about. We bought a small plastic pond liner (it's about 2 feet by 4 feet). We dug a hole and fitted it into the ground. We just refresh it with the hose regularly. It's a pleasant touch.

We have one of those too, it has a little pump that makes it into a waterfall as well. I also bought a second pump and put it in an old washer drum, you could also use a barrel. I have one in an old half cedar barrel.
