Question weeds

I'm pretty much content to have a natural yard, with lots of different sources of green. Our resident groundhog munches on things, too.

I know that plenty of it could be considered weeds, and I'm wondering if it's a big deal. Is it merely for good looks to get something manicured, or is there a health/financial quality to it?

I like to try to get rid of the weeds because I don't like the look of the weeds in the yard. I try to dig out the prickers and get rid of the mushrooms. I don't think there is a negative effect if you leave them there.

Prickers and mushrooms I'd prefer to avoid, and I haven't had to worry about them so far. The plantains and violets are very nice, and even dandelions are an herb, not a weed.

Good to know it's not such a big deal.

I wish there was something running around our yard that would eat the weeds, we spend so much time dealing with themselves it would be a blessing to have a little bugger doing it for us.
