Landscaping Your Yard – What’s Best For You?

Are you a person who wants a low maintenance landscape plan, or are you the type of gardener who enjoys getting outdoors and pruning your own bushes, as well as pulling dead leafs off of your beautiful flowers, to help enhance their growth?  Do you prefer a fountain, or a small landscape pond, or would your prefer less maintenence with ornamental grasses, and a few nice landscape rocks?  The following paragraphs will provide some useful information to help you decide which type of landscape plan will best suit your individual desires.

If you are not the type of person who wants to put a lot of hands on effort in your landscape, but you still want it to look nice, there are several plants you can consider, that require very little care.  Some of these plants include:

  • Day Lily
  • Verbena
  • Coneflower
  • Black-eye Susan

Selecting tough plants and flowers, that do not require a lot of water, will help you to accomplish beautiful landscaping that is low maintenance, as well.

When you are trying to decide on a low maintenance landscape plan, you should consider selecting materials that do not have to be replaced frequently.  Durable materials should be chosen when selecting building materials for landscape additions including:

  • sidewalks
  • decks
  • patios
  • seating structures
  • fences
  • gazebos

Choosing the most durable landscaping materials will help to ensure a low maintenance landscape design, as well as aid to the lifespan of landscape plans that require more maintenance.

If you are the type of person who enjoys getting regularly involved in your landscape and flower beds, considering more annuals, and less perennials can help keep you actively involved.  Annuals are plants and flowers that come back each year on their own, and perennials are the plants and flowers you must replant each year.  Choosing more perennials will enable you to add to your landscape beds whenever you like, and enable you to have a hand in the planting of your new landscape beds, and let you aid in successfully completion of your landscape project.

Whether you desire a low maintenance landscape design, or if you prefer to provide hands on help with your landscape design, the perfect plants and materials are available.  No matter what your individual needs and desires, plants and supplies are available to help successfully complete the perfect landscape design.
